Fajr Ka Waqt Kab Khatam Hota Hai? Start aur End Time

فجر کا وقت کب ختم ہوتا ہے

2026-10-08 · Hanafi

Fajr ka waqt kab khatam hota hai? Fajr begins at true dawn (subh sadiq) and ends at sunrise (tulu e aftab). The moment the sun starts to rise, Fajr time is over, and a Fajr prayed after that is qaza.

Quick answer: Fajr starts at subh sadiq (true dawn, when light spreads across the horizon) and ends at sunrise. Pray it any time in between; the best is early. If you wake after sunrise, wait about 15 minutes for the sun to rise fully, then pray it as qaza. See today's Fajr and sunrise time for your city.

When does Fajr start?

Fajr begins at subh sadiq, the "true dawn", when a white light spreads horizontally along the eastern horizon. An earlier vertical streak of light (subh kazib, the false dawn) does not count. Prayer timetables calculate subh sadiq from the sun's angle below the horizon: in Pakistan the Karachi method uses 18°.

When does Fajr end?

At sunrise. The Prophet ﷺ explained the prayer times and said the time of the morning prayer lasts "as long as the sun has not risen" (Sahih Muslim 1388).

Best time to pray Fajr

Any time between dawn and sunrise is on time. In the Hanafi school it is recommended to pray Fajr when the light has spread a little (isfar), while leaving enough time to repeat it if needed; in the other schools, early in the dark (ghalas). Never wait until the last minutes: if the sun starts rising during the prayer, the Hanafi school says it must be repeated as qaza.

Woke up after sunrise?

Pray it as soon as you are able: "Whoever forgets a prayer, let him pray it when he remembers it" (Sunan an-Nasa'i 613). In the Hanafi school, wait about 15 minutes after sunrise (the Ishraq time), since praying while the sun is rising is not allowed (makrooh auqat). Pray the 2 farz as qaza; if before zawal, pray the 2 sunnah with it too. More in qaza namaz ki niyat.
