سحری اور افطار کی دعا، رمضان ۲۰۲۷
Sehri aur iftar ki dua are among the most searched duas of Ramadan. Here is the authentic iftar dua, the truth about the "sehri dua", Ramadan 2027 dates and timetables for your city.
ذَهَبَ الظَّمَأُ وَابْتَلَّتِ العُرُوقُ، وَثَبَتَ الْأَجْرُ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ
Dhahaba az-zama'u wabtallatil-'uruqu wa thabatal-ajru in sha Allah. "The thirst has gone, the veins are moistened, and the reward is certain, if Allah wills." The Prophet ﷺ said this when he broke his fast (Sunan Abu Dawud 2357, graded hasan).
The well-known Allahumma laka sumtu wa bika amantu wa 'ala rizqika aftartu is reported in Abu Dawud as a mursal narration and is graded weak, but its meaning is good and many scholars allow saying it. Saying the sahih dua above is best.
The fast needs an intention, and the intention is in the heart: waking for sehri with the plan to fast is the niyat. The phrase wa bisawmi ghadin nawaitu min shahri ramadan is a common way of expressing it, not a dua from the hadith; saying it is optional.
| Event | Expected date |
|---|---|
| 1st Ramadan 1448 | 8 February 2027 (9 February where the moon is sighted a day later, as often in Pakistan and India) |
| Laylatul Qadr (odd nights of the last ten) | around 27 February to 9 March 2027 |
| Eid ul-Fitr | 9 or 10 March 2027 |
Dates depend on moon sighting; the sehri and iftar times for each date don't change.
